B Corps™ are a relatively new kind of business that balances purpose and profit. They are legally required to consider the impact of their decisions on their workers, customers, suppliers, community, and the environment. This is a community of leaders, driving a global movement of people using businesses as a force for good.
One of our early customers got in touch to say he thinks he may have overloaded 2 chandeliers we made for him back in 2002. He loves them and would really like them fixed if possible. Rather than sell him new fittings we offered to give the old ones a service & upgrade, because we all believe throwing stuff away is not good, even if it is 18 years old (In fact, we have felt this way since our beginnings, and design our fittings to last and be maintainable).
On World Environment Day, we wanted to share some of the steps we have taken in the last few years to improve how we do things at Stoane Lighting. We are all passionate about the environment and have always done our best to bring this ethos into work with us.
For the very final stages of Pipien's quality control (and interested to see how it stands up to a bit of abuse) one of our Development team boffins attached it to his bike. Watch it survive through a typical Edinburgh wet and muddy autumn commute.

We're very happy to share that we won Supplier of the Year at the Lighting Design Awards 2019 back in May. We'd like to express a huge thank you for the recognition of our small employee owned company, delivering challenging briefs to some of the world's most fantastic projects, all from the comfort of our tin shed. We wouldn't be able to do what we do without the support of the industry's finest specifiers. Congratulations to all of the other winners.
