Video Conferencing Light

When Covid-19 hit in 2020 and we were sent into lockdown, we found ourselves on video calls day and night at work and home. A number of us quickly realised how bad the lighting can be.

With a problem to solve and an interest in the Good Light Group, a non-profit organisation promoting healthy lighting, we took our sketches for a new product to social media where we welcomed lots of comments and suggestions. Prototypes were reviewed by a pilot group and these are the final results.

VCL.Desk is free standing with a sleek, high quality glass base that has a dedicated groove to rest a phone or tablet. As standard it uses a warm dim array, manually dimming from 3000K to 1800K as you work through your day. VCL.Clamp is intended to mount to the back of your work area, using Xicato’s XOB with a choice of colour temperatures. You can adjust the bias of the beam (pan and tilt), choose your height and choose your finish. There’s a phone holder accessory available too.

We hope our Video Conferencing Light is a meaningful step in that direction, be that in the office, home office or any other hybrid work area. Both are available with BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) wireless dimming capability in the event that you wish to integrate them with smart lighting and/or occupancy management.
