Darc Award Winner: Pipien

Back to all news

We won! Thanks so much to everyone who voted for our tiny IP66 spot light Pipien in this year's Darc Awards.

We're all very chuffed to bring home the award for Best Architectural Lighting Product in the Exterior category at 2019's peer reviewed Darc Awards. Congratulations to all the other winners and thanks to the organisers and Light Collective for a great night.

What is Pipien?

For those of you that don't know Pipien, it's an amphibian like its bigger brothers Tadpole and Frog. Pipien measures just Ø16.5mm and is rated to IP66, think of it like an outdoor Surf Type S.

Hand-built from aluminium with solid locks, Pipien offers a punchy 137lm at source with a range of interchangeable optics and our usual vast range of finishes. It can easily be hidden within features and is very discreet for enhancing landscape and architectural details whilst remaining in the shadows. It’s available as standard with a surface mounted base and ground spike but could also use a tree strap, maybe even a mini pole clamp.

It’s serviceable, rebuild-able and ultimately almost entirely recyclable in the unlikely event it can’t be repaired or remanufactured.

Take a look at the product page here.

Watch as one of our Development team boffins puts Pipien through the final stages of Quality Control.
