Collecting a winner's prize in the Heritage Lighting Design category in 2024's LIT Lighting Design Awards, Speech Room, inside 16th century Harrow School, was designed by Sutton Vane Associates.
With sustainability a strong consideration for this Grade II listed building, Sutton Vane Associates sought support from Stoane Lighting to supply predominantly ZTA fixtures. High performing spotlights with very narrow beams mounted to the column capitals were required for wayfinding and also to highlight details of the vaulted ceilings and arches.
Dual purpose ZTA.70.Bay, typically used as a fixed focus downlight, were suspended from the central dome and customised with an uplighting element using ultra thin flexible LED tape.
Other ZTA.50.Surface fixtures with bespoke bases were used to light paintings and organ pipes, completing the stunning scheme by the Sutton Vane Associates team.
