K11 MUSEA, a “LEED Gold Standard” and “Hong Kong BEAM Plus Gold Standard” certified project, situated Victoria Dockside in Hong Kong, intentionally blurs the lines between culture, art and shopping centre.

Hong Kong’s “first urban biodiversity museum”, Nature Discovery Park, located at the top of K11 MUSEA is an events space, rooftop garden and a sustainability themed education park.

Based on a scheme design by Speirs Major, for this area we manufactured and supplied custom Orb pendants and collaborated on decorative forms of our exterior spotlights.

The hanging Orbs were supplied in three different heights and the acrylic globe in two different diameters. With a single warm white 3000K LED inside and rose gold anodised finish, the final installation compliments the overall immersive lit experience.

In the garden spaces, standard products Frog Type X and Tadpole receive a decorative makeover with the addition of a polished acrylic bulb optic and ornate ‘firefly cages’.

Close attention was paid to finishes with the mirror polished champagne gold Rimex cage paired with an Anolok bronze body.

The skylights in K11 MUSEA's atrium are fringed with Iris. These miniature 'eyeball' luminaires were chosen to crisply highlight specific surfaces of the intricate geodesic structure.

The articulated head, with optional anti-glare accessories, was finished in a highly specific bronze powder coat paint chosen by the design team. Almost 400 Iris fittings highlight the “cell” details 35m in the air and are individually DMX controllable in order to provide dynamic enhancement to events and shows.

Croc Type X, IP66 rated adjustable and lockable spotlights, were selected to highlight one of K11 MUSEA's many entranceways.

Mole Type X, an IP66 rated fixed focus in-ground luminaire, highlights the curved structure of the seating areas along K11 MUSEA's perimeter. The decorative construction mimics the geodesic pattern inside the building; connecting visitors between the two.

A very simple yet effective solution was required to add decorative lighting to the walkways of K11 MUSEA. Speirs Major chose Baldican Type X; an uncomplicated can aesthetic with a specially angled cowl for glare control offers a subtle directional light to the green walls.
