Scott Monument

The vibrant lighting design of the Scott Monument by EFLA | Kevan Shaw Lighting Design a few years ago brought this historic architecture back to life on Princes Street. Toad Type X was used at all levels, using custom made clamps and poles to ensure no additional disruption to the already delicate sandstone. Toad Type X also sits at the base of the monument, happily concealed inside bespoke bollards illuminating columns from beneath.

Winning a Scottish Design Award in 2017, this stunning project keeps on delivering as it continues to brighten Edinburgh’s skyline. Talking about the project and his work with us Kevan said, “We chose Toad Type X following site trials that demonstrated that these were the most efficient fitting. We also needed Stoane Lighting’s willingness and engagement to create the custom installation details required to meet the challenges of the project”.
