The award winning intervention at the edge of the centre of Eskilstuna in Sweden was designed by the core team: the City’s Landscape Architect, the City’s Project Manager, and lighting designer Chiara Carucci.
We co-designed a slimmed down bespoke version of our G-Cat with bespoke finish to match the vibrant columns. Measures to protect wildlife included full cut-off fixtures, minimal light levels and advanced lighting controls, adapting the scheme to each season.
This resulted in an aesthetically compelling environment, enhancing the visitor experience and boosting the night-time economy of this reclaimed public space. This approach contributed to safeguarding local wildlife and migratory birds while enhancing a sense of security and cohesion. The project earned second prize at the LUCI Cities & Lighting Awards.
