Working with the fantastic team at Speirs Major, we were asked to take a look at a handrail module. Its intended location was Green Heart at the University of Birmingham, part of a redevelopment in the campus that spans a huge 12 acres.

Looking first at our standard Indehandrail Module which is IP66 rated and has a curved face for a flush fit, the design evolved, maintaining the scalloped glass to offer a 25º beam with the addition of a flanged bezel in a custom housing.

Quoting Philip Rose, Speirs Major’s Associate Partner, “The bridge features integrated balustrade lighting, creating a dynamic lit effect on the bridge floor”.
