Over multiple phases we supplied lighting to the historic Grade I listed Bath Abbey.

The Abbey has received generations of restoration work. We worked with the energetic team at Michael Grubb Studio to deliver this new DMX controlled lighting scheme that brings the Abbey right up to date and importantly: lessens energy consumption and carbon impact.

We supplied a few bespoke elements too. Spot lights on the sills for example sit inside custom made decorative shrouds, removing glare and allowing them to fade into their “honey-coloured” stonework surroundings. More high powered spot lights, some featuring 7.7º beams and mounted using bespoke plates, throw light up to the fan vaulted ceiling.

We’re so pleased to hear that the project has picked up four awards! It won Heritage Lighting category at the LIT Design awards, a GOLD award in the Interior (Lighting Projects) category at the WIN Awards 2021, Platinum at the Build Back Better Awards and also picked up first place in the Places | High Budget category at the 2021 Darc Awards together with the Best of the Best award: given to the project that received the most amount of votes our of all the project category winners. Our congratulations to Michael Grubb Studio!
