In spring 2017, the Wadden Sea Centre in Ribe, Denmark launched a new exhibition following the journey of 15 million migratory birds and is one of the very first projects using Xicato's XIM Gen4 that we are very proud to have been involved in. We worked closely with Nikolaj Birkelund at Fortheloveoflight and Johan Carlsson of JAC studios on this exciting project. The BLE lighting control system provides individual light control with deep, smooth dimming that was simple to set up and simple to use. As well as the ease of commissioning it has potential to integrate the museum lighting with the immersive multimedia experience planned for the visitors. Light level adjustments were performed interactively from within the space, from the point of view of the visitor, in hours rather than days.
We delivered bespoke chrome plated 'Birdbeamer' spot lights perched high throughout the museum on a low profile low voltage flexible system. This is a great example of a custom built product that has made its way to our standard offering. Amongst the project winning time and time again at award ceremonies across Scandinavia and Germany, BBX.70 received due recognition and won its own award; a German Design Award in category Excellent Product Design Lighting.
