Lighting Industry Association
For nearly 20 years, Stoane Lighting has been a member of the Lighting Industry Association (LIA).
We benefit from the depth and breadth of their knowledge base, independent testing facilities and their annual audits of our factory and procedures.
Our Ali Kay contributes to a variety of LIA task forces and technical committees at member, vice chair and chairperson level. Primarily surrounding sustainability topics, their metrics, their legislation and their communication as we feel strongly that it is important that the industry harmonises on these topics.

LightingEurope
Having initially joined LightingEurope (LE) in an affiliate role through the LIA, since 2022 we have had an independent presence within LE.
Through membership of Working Group Sustainability we played an active role in Product Specific Rules Task Force and refinement of the PEP Ecopassport® Program Product Specific Rules (PSR) for life cycle assessment of Luminaires PSR-0014-ed2.0-EN-2023 07 13 (according to PSR-modele-ed2-EN-2021 11 18).
There is also work ongoing within Task Forces Remanufacturing and Long Service Life.

Good Light Group
Since 2021 we have been supporting members of this not-for-profit organisation that aims to explore, educate and promote better lighting for human health and happiness.
Roger Sexton was succeeded on the organisation’s board by Dave Hollingsbee in 2024. The Good Light Group does excellent work in distilling down and communicating the essence of what good light is, in human terms from the emerging knowledge surrounding this topic. Continue reading

GreenLight Alliance
This semi-formal not-for-profit in 2019 was founded by a small group of like-minded individuals from across the industry, including co-founder Dave Hollingsbee, with the intention of encouraging collaboration on the journey to find suitable metrics to measure and compare the sustainability characteristics of lighting equipment meaningfully and fairly.
With the publishing and keen uptake of CIBSE’s TM66 (Circularity), TM65.2 (Embodied Carbon) and publication of PSR-0014-ed2 for full LCA/EPDs, the organisation begins to shift emphasis towards awareness and implementation. Continue reading
Society of Light and Lighting
Since 2021 we have been sustaining members of the SLL. Prior to that we have contributed on numerous occasions to technical lighting guides. Our Dr. Irene Mazzei contributed to the technical content of TM66 (circularity) and was Technical Lead on TM65.2 (Embodied Carbon in Luminaires).
We are glad to offer a range of CIBSE approved CPDs on subjects such as Product Circularity, Embodied Carbon, Light and Health and Remanufacturing. We are active members of the Society of Light and Lighting; our Lisa Sutherland is a personal member and contributes to the Events Committee and CIBSE Scotland sub-committee.
